The Kingville Project preserves, documents, and activates the history of Albemarle’s historic Black educational campus through research, storytelling, historic preservation, education, and community engagement.

The project serves as the foundation for a larger vision of cultural preservation, community revitalization, workforce development, and educational opportunity for future generations.

Our vision is to transform the historic Kingville campus into a hub for education, skilled trades, technology, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, arts, cultural programming, and community development.

By reconnecting the site’s educational legacy with the needs of today’s workforce, Kingville Academy will help create pathways from history to hands-on learning, skills, careers, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity.

Hidden Talent Studios serves as a creative and events partner supporting the mission through spoken word, arts programming, cultural events, storytelling, live experiences, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives.

These experiences help amplify community voices, showcase local talent, bring people together, and generate support for programs that create opportunity.
